How does it work? It's quite simple... really!
1.) You need a domain name (www.yourname.com). We'll research your desired domain name to make sure it's available and initiate its registration (or transfer) for you; the cost of the search and first year's domain registration is included in all of our packages. Your domain name registration will cost $10.21 per year thereafter.
2.) You need a website shell design. You can design your own website shell or select a package that includes our inexpensive customized shell design services.
3.) You need a hosting plan for your website design. Your new website design will reside on our robust, ALL-INCLUSIVE web hosting plan that will leave your pocketbook happy.
4.) You need to maintain your site. To keep your site current, you need to frequently update your website (e.g. events on your calendar). Good news! Our hosting plan uses a FREE content management system (CMS) for you to easily make updates to your website. We will train you on how to use this system that is fully accessible via the internet - that means no resource heavy applications for you to download!
How much does this all cost? We offer three packages:
Do-it-Yourself. This package is for you if you want an inexpensive, high quality website *hosting plan and you want to design the website shell yourself. You do not need to purchase or use expensive website design software (e.g. dreamweaver) since powerful design software is included. You also update the website yourself using the included content management system (CMS).
This package includes: domain name search, first year domain name registration, basic web shell design to get you started, *content management system (for updating your site), *designing software (to design your shell), basic familiarity training and $10 credit towards the hosting plan. You design your site, update it using the CMS and pay for the monthly hosting plan thereafter.
*Hosting plan ($ varies). Most clients average less than $15 per month for the entire hosting plan. We will apply a $10 credit to your first month. No contracts. No hidden fees. No upselling. No cancellation penalties. This plan includes the content management system to update your site's information as well as powerful designing software if you want to design a shell yourself. You can have multiple shells.
Monkey-in-the-middle. This package is for you if you want an attractive and customized website shell design done for hire, but you want to enter all of the site's information yourself. This package includes everything in the Do-It-Yourself package in addtion to a customized website shell. Please note: the Premium package is recommneded over the Monkey-In-The-Middle package due to possible website functionality.
This package includes: domain name search, first year domain name registration, one (1) customized web shell design, basic training and $10 credit towards the hosting plan. We design your site; you update it using the included CMS and pay for the monthly *hosting plan thereafter.
Premium. This package is for you if you want an attractive and customized website shell design done for hire and you want us to enter all of your site's initial content. This package includes everything in the Monkey-In-The-Middle package in addtion to a customized website shell and all initial content entered for you. Please note: the Premium package is recommended over the Monkey-In-The-Middle package due to possible website functionality.
This package includes: domain name search, first year domain name registration, one (1) customized web shell design, entry of initial website content, basic training and $10 credit towards the *hosting plan. We design your site and enter the intitial content; you update it using the included CMS and pay for the monthly *hosting plan thereafter.
Site Refresher. This option is if you already have a CorvuSolutions design or a website powered by HostKarma and you would like a facelift for your website.

KarmaCMS Hosting uses a variable-rate billing method to ensure that you only pay for what you use. There are no plans to choose from, you don't get hit with excessive overage fees, and your costs automatically go down on slow months. Variable-rate billing is the fairest and safest method for you, because it ensures that you only pay for what you use, and that you don't have any arbitrary limits placed on your account. Most companies offer "flat-rate" billing, and people tend to think this is safer or more economical. It's not.
Here's what happens with flat-rate hosting: your flat-rate hosting plan has predefined limits, and your site gets cut off if you exceed them in order to protect you from overage charges. While this ensures that you will not pay more than $X per month, your site will probably get cut off at the worst possible time.
Suppose you get featured on television or radio and your website traffic goes through the roof. You're getting a lot of attention and making a lot of sales, but then all the sudden your site is disabled because your "flat-rate" plan only allowed for a certain amount of transfer per day. Your flat-rate hosting plan charges overage fees if you exceed your predefined limits. This is rarely mentioned to you up-front, but if you read the fine print in the Terms of Service, you'll see that many "flat-rate" hosting plans charge high overage fees for going over your limits. Your flat-rate hosting plan automatically bumps you up to the next "level" of service if you exceed your plan limits. Even though the service is advertised as flat rate, f you use more, you still end up getting billed more — except you increase by several dollars all at once, and then you're stuck with the new plan even if you just had a temporary surge.
Variable-rate billing is the best balance between cost and reliability. The advantages are: small and mid-sized sites get a much better deal than they would elsewhere. Many companies charge $20-$30 per month for comparable services, regardless of site size. This means that clients with small and mid-sized sites end up subsidizing a handful of resource hogs. On slow months, you save money. Why should you have have to pay the same flat fee when you're not using a lot of server resources? On busy months, you only pay for what you use. Instead of being bumped up to the next "plan", or getting hit with big overage fees, you are simply billed a fair amount for your additional usage. The following month your costs will be back to normal.
